NHL Rumors: Los Angeles Kings Linked to Jets Star Goalie
The Los Angeles Kings are considering all of their options when it comes to goaltending this offseason. Joonas Korpisalo proved to be a solid rental for them, but the Kings will be in trouble again if he elects to test the market. As a result, there are rumblings that the Kings are also looking at Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck as an option.
Hellebuyck recently told reporters that he does not wish to be a part of a rebuild and wants to play competitive hockey. With the Jets facing a lot of uncertainty heading into the offseason, we could see some major changes made to their group. This is especially so after they almost missed the playoffs this year and played an uninspiring first-round series against the Vegas Golden Knights.
If the Kings landed Hellebuyck, they would have an elite goaltender, and it could be the final piece of the puzzle that makes them legitimate contenders again. However, if he is made available, several other teams like the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, Detroit Red Wings, and Carolina Hurricanes could also be in the mix.
Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if the Kings land the star netminder from here.
