Winnipeg Jets Rumors: Connor Hellebuyck Linked to New Team
The Los Angeles Kings are considering all of their options when it comes to goaltending. Joonas Korpisalo is a pending UFA, and if he walks, Los Angeles will once again have a problem in net. As a result, they are one of the clubs currently looking at Winnipeg Jets star netminder Connor Hellebuyck.
The Jets are in a tough position. After a disappointing postseason, they now have several notable players entering the final years of their contracts. Hellebuyck is of course one of them, and he has made it known that he does not want to be a part of a rebuild if the Jets go down that path. As a result, his future in Winnipeg is looking murky, and it could open the door to the Kings bringing him in.
Hellebuyck had another strong year in 2022-23, as he sported a 37-25-2 record, a 2.49 goals-against average, and a .920 save percentage. With these numbers, he is currently one of the finalists for the Vezina Trophy.
Adding Hellebuyck would be massive for a Kings team on the rise, so we will need to wait and see if they can successfully acquire him from here.
