Winnipeg Jets Rumors: Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidate
After an underwhelming and disappointing first-round exit, the Winnipeg Jets are heading into the 2023 NHL Offseason with plenty of questions. The team is expected to make some notable changes to their group, and one specific defenseman who is becoming a trade candidate because of this is Brenden Dillon.
Dillon is entering the final year of his contract, where he carries a $3.9 million cap hit. With the Jets' left side of their defensive group having multiple options, it would make sense to move a veteran like Dillon. They could trade him to either improve their roster elsewhere or simply gain more much-needed cap space.
Dillon would receive a good amount of interest in the trade market, as he is an experienced shutdown defenseman who plays a heavy game. In 80 games this season, the 32-year-old had one goal to go along with 11 points.
We will now need to wait and see if the Jets opt to move Dillon from here.
