Winnipeg Jets Rumors: Forward Becoming Trade Candidate
Before the trade deadline passed, the Winnipeg Jets acquired Nino Niederreiter from the Nashville Predators. However, his time in Winnipeg might be short-lived, as he is starting to emerge as one of the Jets' many offseason trade candidates.
After an underwhelming finish to the season, the Jets are gearing up for an offseason of changes. It is clear that their current core cannot get the job done, and now they are set to enter an overdue retooling period. With Niederreiter entering the final season of his contract and being a veteran forward, it is understandable that the Jets are at least open to the idea of moving him.
Teams looking for a bit more scoring in their middle six should consider bringing in Niederreiter. Some potential landing spots include the Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Seattle Kraken. Alas, we will now need to wait and see what the Jets decide to do with him from here.
