3 Free-Agent Destinations for Devils' LD Ryan Graves

New Jersey Devils defenseman Ryan Graves is set to hit the open market on July 1 and could be one of the most sought after blueliners among the free-agent class. Graves is a great penalty killer and loves to play the game hard, and the right way, making him an asset to any d-core he's a part of. Here's a few teams who would love to sign Graves this summer:

Toronto Maple Leafs

With Jake Muzzin likely not playing next season and Justin Holl headed for free agency, the Maple Leafs will be looking to add another defenseman who can kill penalties. Graves played an average of 2:24 minutes per game while shorthanded and also loved using his body, recording 152 blocks and 83 hits. His 152 blocked shots led the Devils and the Maple Leafs could use more of this next season. Look for Toronto's new GM, Brad Treliving to reach out should Graves make it to free agency July 1.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins have long-time Penguin Brian Dumoulin who is set to hit the open market and they will have interest in adding Graves. Kyle Dubas is expected to be named the team's new GM and he's aggressive as anyone when it comes to offseason moves. He's also had interest in Graves in the past as a member of the Maple Leafs. The Penguins need to become tougher to play against and adding the rugged defenseman would be a great first step this offseason.

Detroit Red Wings

Steve Yzerman is expected to be very aggressive this offseason as the Red Wings are loaded with cap space and a ton of draft picks. They have a solid young defense and adding the 28-year-old Graves could be a nice compliment to their group. Mo Seider and Graves together would be a very tough duo to play against.
