3 Vegas Golden Knights Not Expected Back Next Season

The Vegas Golden Knights have done the unthinkable and won a Stanley Cup in their sixth season in the NHL. It was an impressive run for the Golden Knights who were able to stay in control the entire playoff run. As we head into the offseason, roster changes are coming because of the hard salary cap world. Here's three Golden Knights who are not expected back next season:

Phil Kessel

Even though he wasn't playing down the stretch, Phil Kessel had a tremendous impact on Vegas' playoff run. Word is Kessel was doing his best to keep everyone lose in practice and in between games and was being the ultimate teammate even though he was being healthy scratched. Kessel can still provide some secondary scoring and expect to see him sign another one-year deal this summer. It's just not likely to be in Vegas. The team only has $3.4 million in cap space and several holes to fill.

Ivan Barbashev

It's going to take a miracle for the Golden Knights to keep Barbashev. They acquired the pesky forward mid-season and it was the best move they made. He was a huge piece of their success during the Cup run and now Barbashev heads to free agency with a Cup ring and empty pockets that are about to be filled up. The 27-year-old winger recorded 16 points in 23 games during the regular season in Vegas and another 18 points in 22 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He's now one of the biggest fish on the market this summer and will price himself off the team.

Jonathan Quick

While everything worked out just fine for Jonathan Quick this season, don't expect him back in Vegas next season. Logan Thompson will be back and expect to see Adin Hill re-signed as well. Quick won't be signing in Columbus, we know that much, but don't expect to see him back on the Vegas strip either.
