Boston Bruins Rumors: Goalie Becoming Offer Sheet Candidate

In a recent episode of TSN Insider Trading, insider Darren Dreger brought up the possibility of teams trying to successfully offer sheet Boston Bruins netminder Jeremy Swayman.

Following bringing up this scenario, Dreger noted that he's "fairly certain that the Bruins would match that." Yet, when noting that the Bruins have very limited cap space, this is certainly a scenario that would not favor them.

Swayman is heading into the offseason as one of the Bruins' top free agents. Thankfully for Boston, he is a restricted free agent, so the Bruins still have control over his signing rights. However, for their sake, they should be aiming to lock him up as soon as possible. The youngster has shown that he is the real deal, and there is no question that teams that are desperate for goalie help would love to scoop him up if the opportunity presents itself.

In 37 games this season, the Alaska native put together a 24-6-4 record, a 2.27 goals-against average, and a .920 save percentage. There is no question that several teams would love to add a goaltender as reliable as him. Let's see if another team makes a bold move and tries to steal him under Boston's nose from here.
