Boston Bruins Rumors: Goaltender Becoming Trade Candidate
The Boston Bruins are gearing up for a busy offseason that will force them to make some big decisions. They have several free agents and very limited cap space. Several trade candidates have emerged because of this, and Jeremy Swayman is the latest to join the list.
Nick Kypreos recently reported that Swayman could be available for trade during the draft. Although this might be shocking for some to believe, Boston’s salary cap trouble and Swayman being a restricted free agent could make this possible. However, for this to occur, Boston would need to be okay with rolling with Linus Ullmark as their primary number-one netminder.
Yet, there would be a big risk in moving Swayman, as many believe that he is the future in net for the Bruins, and he has already put together strong seasons in the NHL. However, if the Bruins could land a nice return for him, it could be an avenue Don Sweeney explores.
We will now need to wait and see if the Bruins end up moving Swayman at the draft from here. Several teams like the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Carolina Hurricanes would likely love to scoop him up.
