Calgary Flames Rumors: 3 Players Being Discussed in Trade Talks
Craig Conroy and the Calgary Flames are going through one right now. The Flames new GM has his hands full early on in his tenure as defenseman Noah Hanifin reportedly wants out. There's also a couple of other Flames who are linked to trade talks.
The belief is #Flames have received a more direct answer from defenseman Noah Hanifin, who has clearly indicated that he does not plan to sign an extension in Calgary.

That doesn't necessarily guarantee a trade, but Calgary has an answer on where he stands.
Rumor has Calgary discussing deals not only surrounding Hanifin, but also Elias Lindholm and Mikael Backlund. Talk about absolute chaos in Calgary as Conroy will have his work cut out for him to get fair value on any of these three players.
The issue has been the arena in Calgary and with the new facilities still many moons away, the Flames are feeling the heat as Conroy canvasses the trade market. Lindholm and Hanifin will fetch massive returns, but with all three of these players being pending unrestricted free agents next summer, any team giving up assets to acquire them will want security a contract extension is coming.

Lindholm recorded 64 points in 80 games last season and is on a very reasonable cap hit at $4.85 million. He does not hold any trade protection. Hanifin recorded 38 points in 81 games and is set to make $4.9 million, meanwhile Backlund is owed $5.3 million in 2023-24 and registered 56 points in all 82 regular season games.
The NHL's trade market is heating up and the Flames will be dead smack in the middle of it all.
