Calgary Flames Rumors: 3 Possible Trade Destinations for Noah Hanifin

After a poor 2022-23 season, the Calgary Flames are due for some changes. Noah Hanifin is one of the many Flames players who have come up in the rumor mill. When noting that he is entering the final year of his contract, it could open the door to Calgary dealing him. As a result, let's discuss three possible landing spots for the Massachusetts native.

Washington Capitals: After trading Dmitry Orlov, the Washington Capitals' left side has gotten significantly weaker. As a result of this and the Capitals looking to turn things around next season, they certainly are a team to pay attention to in the Hanifin sweepstakes. He would give them a much-needed top-four defenseman. 

Los Angeles Kings: The Los Angeles Kings need help on the left side of their defensive group. Although they acquired Vladislav Gavrikov at the deadline, there is no guarantee he will be back next season due to his UFA status. As a result, Hanifin could be a player who the Kings look to target during the summer. On paper, there's a great match here.

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Pittsburgh Penguins are due for changes after a disastrous season. When noting that Brian Dumoulin is a pending UFA, the Penguins will be on the hunt for a top-four defenseman if he walks. Hanifin would be an upgrade over Dumoulin and immediately become a major part of their defensive group.
