Dallas Stars Rumors: Free-Agent Forward Wants to Stay Put

While speaking with reporters, pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) Max Domi made it clear that he hopes to stay with the Dallas Stars instead of hitting the open market.

It is understandable that Domi is hoping to stay in Dallas. After all, since the 2021-22 season, he has played for four total teams (Columbus Blue Jackets, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, and Stars). As a result, a long-term deal is something he is seeking, and he has now made it known that he wants to remain in Dallas.

The ball is now in the Stars' court. They are entering the offseason with just over $7 million of cap space and have several other free agents to consider bringing back. Therefore, Domi returning to the Stars is not guaranteed.

Domi is due for a raise from his $3 million cap hit, as he had an excellent 2022-23 campaign. In 80 regular-season games split between Chicago and Dallas, he had 20 goals and 56 points. This was his best production since the 2018-19 season. With that, he also contributed with 13 points in 19 postseason games.
