Dallas Stars Sign Veteran Defenseman After Career Season
The Dallas Stars made a move by signing defenseman Alexander Petrovic to a one-year, two-way contract extension starting from the 2023-24 season.
This announcement came after Petrovic's solid performance with the Texas Stars, the Stars' AHL affiliate, during the 2022-23 season.

Petrovic proved to be a vital asset to the Texas Stars, playing in an impressive 71 out of 72 regular-season games. Not only did he lead the team's defensemen, but he also tied for the team lead overall.
The season was a personal best for Petrovic, as he achieved career-highs in goals (9) and points (27) while matching his highest assist tally (18).
His skills were further showcased in the playoffs, where he led the team's defensemen in both goals and points.
With his extensive experience in both the AHL and NHL, Petrovic brings valuable expertise to the Stars' roster. Having played in 142 games with the Texas Stars, he has demonstrated leadership qualities and contributed with 14 goals and 32 assists.
Back in 2017, the Florida Panthers offered Jonathan Marchessault to Vegas as a condition to them picking Reilly Smith in the expansion draft so they could keep defenseman Alex Petrovic.
