Edmonton Oilers Re-Sign Pending Free-Agent Forward

The Edmonton Oilers have completed another order of business before the free agency period opens on July 1. Reports have surfaced they have re-signed forward Mattias Janmark on a one-year deal for around $1 million.

Janmark is a versatile bottom-six forward who has been a nice addition in Edmonton since signing with the club last summer. Janmark produced 25 points in 66 games and managed to appear in five Stanley Cup Playoff games before getting injured.

The Oilers need bottom six help and are in a better place with Janmark in the fold. They've been linked to a number of free-agent forwards including Connor Brown, Nick Bonino and Noel Acciari.

Expect to see GM Ken Holland very busy this upcoming weekend as free agency begins. The Oil have roughly $7 million in cap space after Janmark puts pen to paper. There's rumblings they are testing the trade market on Jack Campbell and Philip Broberg.
