Jets Star Forward Finished in Winnipeg
Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois has been in the rumor mill for quite some time. Now, a move appears to be inevitable. While on TSN Insider Trading, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reported that Dubois has informed the Jets that he does not wish to sign any extension of any kind with the club. LeBrun noted that this even includes a one-year deal.

With this development, it is apparent that Dubois' time with the Jets is coming to a close. The Jets would be wise to shop the 24-year-old this summer and put an end to this chapter. When noting that Dubois just posted 27 goals and 63 points in 73 games in 2022-23, there will be a sizeable market for the 6-foot-2 forward.
Dubois is a restricted free agent this summer and will be eligible for unrestricted free agency as soon as the end of next season.
It will be intriguing to see what happens with Dubois from here, but given this latest development, it would be smart for the Jets to get some assets back for the skilled forward.
