LA Kings & Winnipeg Jets Talking Major Trade
Pierre-Luc Dubois is one of the biggest names on the trade block right now, and it appears that he could be finding his new home shortly. According to Austin Stanovich, the Los Angeles Kings are getting “closer” to acquire the star forward. Stanovich also noted that Gabriel Vilardi could be a piece heading the other way to the Winnipeg Jets.
The Kings have been one of the several teams linked to Dubois this summer, and it certainly seems possible that they could be the winners of the sweepstakes given this latest report. When noting that LA is in win-now mode and have been hunting for another top-six forward, it makes sense that they are increasing their push to bring in Dubois.
Dubois would provide the Kings with another high-impact forward as they aim to strengthen their roster for next season. He could be a perfect fit on their top line given his mix of skill and physicality. With that, he would naturally become a major part of their power play.
The Jets, on the other hand, simply need to move on from Dubois. If Gabriel ends up being one of the assets that they get back for Dubois, that would be a great start for Winnipeg. Vilardi is a young player on the rise who just had his best NHL season.
Alas, it will be fun to see if the Kings and Jets hammer out a trade centering around PLD from here.
