Los Angeles Kings & Arizona Coyotes Complete Trade
For the first time in a while, the Arizona Coyotes have a made trade that will better their team in the present. The Yotes have acquired Sean Durzi from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2024 second-round pick (from the Montreal Canadiens).
It was recently reported that the Coyotes are looking to improve heading into next season and are willing to trade their surplus of picks. Now, this move confirms that, as they have added a young defenseman with top-four potential. With the Coyotes, Durzi should be a major contributor to their defensive group and power play. In 72 games this campaign with LA, the 24-year-old posted 38 points.
The Kings had a surplus of right-shot defenseman, so Durzi’s name has been out there in the rumor mill. Now, they have landed a draft pick for him and will have more cap space to work with for free agency. That is certainly not a bad thing at this time of year.
It will be intriguing to see how this move pays off for both clubs. Furthermore, let’s see if Durzi can thrive having a bigger role with the Coyotes. This looks like a good move for Arizona as they begin the next stage of their rebuilding process.
