Montreal Canadiens Are Bringing Back A Fan Favorite
The Montreal Canadiens have taken care of some internal business as they have re-signed forward Michael Pezzetta to a two-year contract that runs through the 2024-25 season.
Pezzetta is an in-your-face forward who is hard on the forecheck and can piss off his opponents. The grinder appeared in 63 games last season for the Canadiens, collecting seven goals and eight assists in the process. He also led the team in hits with 239 and 77 minutes in penalties.

Last season was Pezzetta's first 'full' season in the NHL as he played in the majority of his games with the big club. All of his stats last season were essentially career highs. His new deal sets him up to make $812,500 against the cap.
Pezzetta will once again see bottom six minutes next season in Montreal as he looks to become a staple for the franchise. The Canadiens selected him in the sixth round at the 2016 NHL Draft and so far have been getting great value. The Habs hope this continues into next season and beyond.
