Re-signing Bratt was one of the Devils' biggest goals this offseason, and now their star forward is staying put for eight years. This is simply excellent news, as Bratt has emerged as one of the Devils' most important players.
In 82 games this season with the Devils, Bratt posted 32 goals to go along with 73 points and a plus-14 rating. He did cool off a bit during the playoffs (six points in 12 games), but when noting that he is coming off of back-to-back 73-point campaigns, he should heat right back up next year.
Nevertheless, the Devils now need to focus their attention on signing their other big restricted free agent - Timo Meier. It will be intriguing to see what happens with the star forward, but for now, it is time for Devil fans to be excited about Bratt staying put.
