NHL Rumors: Buffalo Sabres & New York Islanders Talking Trade

Victor Olofsson's name has been picking up a lot of steam in the rumor mill. The Buffalo Sabres are ready to move the 27-year-old winger, and a new team is starting to express interest in him - the New York Islanders.

One of the Islanders' biggest objectives this summer is to add a few scoring forwards. Their scoring woes have been a major reason for their struggles, and bringing in a player like Olofsson could be a good way to help with that. The 2014 seventh-round pick is a pure sniper, scoring 28 goals and posting 40 points in 75 games played. With numbers like these, he would have the potential to be a nice addition to New York's second line.

There have been a few teams besides the Islanders who have been interested in Olofsson as well. Some include the Seattle Kraken, Los Angeles Kings, Washington Capitals, Calgary Flames, and Colorado Avalanche.

It will be intriguing to see if the Islanders end up being the squad that successfully acquires Olofsson from here.
