Ottawa Senators Rumors: Latest on the Alex DeBrincat Trade Talk
Ottawa Senators star forward Alex DeBrincat has emerged as one of the biggest names in the rumor mill. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently reported that the Senators are examining the trade market for him. Now, the next step in that process has been taken, as DeBrincat has given Ottawa a list of preferred trade destinations, according to TSN.

The Senators may have no choice but to move on from DeBrincat, as he is only a year away from being eligible for unrestricted free agency, and he has not shown interest in signing a long-term extension with the club. Furthermore, he has a $9 million qualifying offer as a restricted free agent this offseason.
DeBrincat had a year of mixed results with the Senators in 2022-23, scoring 27 goals and posting 66 points. For his standards, that production was a bit low but still quite solid. As a result, there should be several teams looking to acquire the Michigan native.
We will now need to wait and see what happens with DeBrincat from here. Yet, when noting that he has now given the Senators a list of teams he would like to play for, a move feels far more likely than not.
