Ottawa Senators Sign Prospect
The Ottawa Senators have signed one of their prospects, as Oskar Pettersson has inked a three-year, entry-level deal with the club.
The Senators selected Pettersson with the 72nd overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The 19-year-old got into his first professional action this season with Rogle BK of the Swedish Hockey League. In 29 games with the club, he had one goal, one assist, and 33 points. Although this wasn't the most impressive showing from the youngster, he did perform very well with Rogle's junior squad, posting 23 goals and 33 points in 24 games.
Pettersson is a prospect who will naturally need some time before he is ready for the NHL, but the potential is there for the 6-foot-2 winger. It will be intriguing to see how much of an impact he can make for the Senators later down the road. Time will tell what happens on that front.
