Philadelphia Flyers Rumors: New Team Enters Kevin Hayes Sweepstakes
The Philadelphia Flyers are ready to tear things down. Ivan Provorov has been moved, while Travis Konecny, Carter Hart, Scott Laughton, and Kevin Hayes have all emerged as trade candidates. When it comes to Hayes, it appears that a new team has entered the mix. According to The Fourth Period, the Boston Bruins are linked to the veteran forward.
Hayes, who is a Massachusetts native, could certainly be a strong addition to Boston's lineup. The center position is certainly concerning for Boston moving forward, as Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci are retirement candidates, while Tomas Nosek is a pending UFA. Thus, this is an area Boston should be looking to improve this summer, and bringing in Hayes would do just that.
Yet, the Bruins have very limited cap space, and a move centering around Hayes would force the Flyers to retain salary and take a player or players back.
In 81 games during the 2022-23 season, Hayes posted 18 goals to go along with 54 points.
It will be intriguing to see if the Bruins end up bringing the hometown kid back to Beantown from here.
