Seattle Kraken Rumors: Canadiens Defenseman On Team's Radar

The Seattle Kraken will be looking to improve their roster this summer after their very successful 2022-23 campaign. Unfortunately, it seems likely that Carson Soucy will be hitting the free-agent market, but the Kraken already have another hard-nosed defenseman on their radar because of it - Joel Edmundson.

The Montreal Canadiens are rebuilding and have been actively shopping Edmundson for quite some time. A trade seemed inevitable at the deadline, but injury trouble put those plans on hold. However, now that Edmundson will be healthy come October, the Canadiens are ready to move him.

Edmundson would be a solid option for the Kraken's bottom pairing if acquired. His physical style of play mixed with his steady defensive work would make him a strong addition.

It will be intriguing to see if the Kraken end up being the team who successfully acquires Edmundson this summer. However, we are likely to see other clubs look to acquire him as well.
