Seattle Kraken Rumors: Goaltender Available for Trade

The NHL offseason is here, and trade rumors are naturally starting to pick up because of it. A name player has now entered trade talks, as Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reported that the Seattle Kraken are looking to trade goaltender Chris Driedger.

After an excellent season (2.06 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage in 23 games) with the Florida Panthers in 2020-21, Driedger earned himself a three-year, $10.5 million contract with the Krake that offseason. Unfortunately, he has not been able to replicate that success since. In 27 games with Seattle in 2021-22, he had an .899 SV% and 2.96 GAA in 27 appearances. He then missed the first half of this season and spent the year in the AHL following his return.

It is clear that the Kraken are ready to move on from the Driedger experiment. Rebuilding teams could be willing to take him in if it results in other assets being thrown in as well. If they cannot find a trade partner, a buyout could also be in the cards. Let's see what happens with him from here.
