Winnipeg Jets Rumors: Hellebuyck Trade Talks Picking Up Steam

The Winnipeg Jets are the team to watch this offseason as major changes will sweep their roster. So far, Pierre-Luc Dubois wants out and now, the same can be said for goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.

According to reports, Hellebuyck has informed the Jets, he's not interested in re-signing with the team after next season. He's set to make $6.1 million in 2023-24, the final season of his deal before hitting free agency unrestricted.

Now, the Jets get to work as there's been lots of trade buzz following their team of late. A trade could go down as early as the NHL Entry Draft, which is just around the corner.

Hellebuyck is one of the best goalies in the league and is a former Vezina trophy winner, who is once again up for the award as the league's best. His numbers last season were impressive as he posted a .920 Sv.% in 64 games. He's considered the top trade candidate across the entire NHL this summer.

So far, teams linked include the Ottawa Senators, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres.
