Yet, when noting that the Stars are looking to make another notable move, they need to free up cap space. Faksa carries a $3.25 million cap hit and posted 20 points in 81 games last season. Rebuilding teams could be willing to take his contract on if it leads to them landing a draft pick or prospect.

Thomas Harley: The Stars have made it known that they want to add a top-four right-shot defenseman before the season starts. This, in turn, could lead to them trading away one of their notable prospects. Thomas Harley is one prospect who stands out. The former first-rounder appeared in six games for Dallas this year, posting two assists.
