2 Edmonton Oilers Who Could Be Traded Before 2023-24 Season

Now that the busiest part of free agency is over, trade talk is starting to pick up again. As a result, this series will go over two players from each team who could be traded before the start of the 2023-24 season.

In this latest edition of the series, we will be focusing on the Edmonton Oilers.

Cody Ceci: The Oilers have been aiming to upgrade their top four, specifically on the right side. Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce has linked to them, but if they want to add a player like him, they will need to move out Cody Ceci due to their cap space. There could be teams interested in Ceci, as he has shown that he can play top-four minutes and can work on the penalty kill.

Xavier Bourgault: If the Oilers want to make a big addition before the summer, it could force them to move on from a notable prospect like Xavier Bourgault. The 2021 first-round pick is viewed as having a lot of potential, and teams would love to add him to their prospect pools because of it. In 62 games last season with the Bakersfield Condors, the 20-year-old had 13 goals and 34 points.
