2 Ottawa Senators Who Could Be Traded Before 2023-24 Season
In this latest edition of the series, we will be focusing on the Ottawa Senators.
Mathieu Joseph: One player who could be on the move before the start of the season is Mathieu Joseph. The 26-year-old took a notable step back last season, posting just three goals and 18 points in 56 games played. When noting that he also carries a $2.95 million cap hit until the completion of the 2025-26 season, it would be great for Ottawa to get this contract off the books. They would need to part ways with sweeteners for it to happen, however.
Lassi Thomson: If the Senators hope to make another notable addition to their group before the start of the season, one prospect who could be dealt is Lassi Thomson. The 2019 first-round pick has had trouble cementing himself as an NHL player, but he also just posted a solid 33-point campaign in 56 games this past season in the AHL. As a result, there are likely rebuilders who would be open to taking a chance on the 22-year-old.
