2 Pittsburgh Penguins Who Could Be Traded Before 2023-24 Season
Now that the busiest part of free agency is over, trade talk is starting to pick up again. As a result, this series will go over two players from each team who could be traded before the start of the 2023-24 season.
In this latest edition of the series, we will be focusing our attention on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Jeff Petry: The Penguins are currently the frontrunners to land Erik Karlsson. However, for that to occur, they will need to find a new home for Jeff Petry. Petry has made it known that he is not willing to play for the San Jose Sharks, but the option of a third team being involved in the trade is there. Thus, there's a very good chance Petry will be dealt before the start of the new campaign.
Joel Blomqvist: The Penguins may be forced to trade goalie prospect Joel Blomqvist if they want to add Karlsson. It is clear that the Sharks could use a notable goalie prospect in their system, so they could eye the 21-year-old. In 21 games this past season with Karpat, he sported a 2.29 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.
