Anaheim Ducks Bring Back Goaltender
The Anaheim Ducks have re-signed Lukas Dostal to a two-year contract extension.
Dostal is expected to be the Ducks' backup job this upcoming season, as Anthony Stolarz signed with the Florida Panthers this offseason. The 23-year-old is viewed as having a lot of potential, and now he will be looking to have a breakout campaign for Anaheim in 2023-24.
Dostal made 19 appearances last season for the Ducks, where he sported a 4-10-3 record, a 3.78 goals-against average, and a .901 save percentage. Although Dostal's record was not impressive, he of course was playing for a very weak Ducks team.
It will be interesting to see how well Dostal performs for the Ducks next season. He could end up having an even bigger role if the Ducks end up trading John Gibson before the summer is over, but alas, we will need to wait and see what happens on that front.
