Anaheim Ducks Sign Robert Hagg
The Anaheim Ducks have added to their defensive group, signing Robert Hagg to a one-year, $775,000 contract.
Hagg will provide the Ducks with a potential bottom-pairing option for the 2023-24 season. The 28-year-old spent this past season with the Detroit Red Wings, where he had two goals to go along with seven points in 38 games. Overall, it was a fairly quiet year for him, but he will now be looking to make a bigger impact with the Ducks.
Joining a rebuilding team like the Ducks should open the door for Hagg to receive more consistent playing time next season. He should also be in the running to receive plenty of penalty killing time, as he is a classic defensive defenseman.
Overall, this is a decent little depth move for the Ducks. It will be interesting to see how much of an impact he can make for them from here.
In 338 career NHL games, Hagg has 16 goals, 47 assists, 63 points, and a minus-1 rating.
