Anaheim Ducks Sign Veteran Forward
The Anaheim Ducks have made a big move, signing Alex Killorn to a four-year contract. He will carry a $6.25 million cap hit.
Killorn and the Tampa Bay Lightning were having contract talks leading up to July 1, but a new deal was not agreed upon. As a result, Killorn has landed this major payday from the rebuilding Ducks. Although he is unlikely to play for a contender these next few years, he has gotten what will likely be the biggest contract of his career.
Killorn will provide the Ducks with another top-six forward as they aim to become a playoff team. The two-time Stanley Cup champion will also be a great mentor for the club's younger players as well.
In 82 games this past season with Tampa Bay, he had 27 goals, 37 assists, 64 points, and a plus-18 rating. Adding that kind of offensive production to the lineup will be big for the Ducks. It will now be intriguing to see how well he meshes with Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry from here.
