Arizona Coyotes Parting Ways With Recent Free-Agent Signing
Less than two weeks ago, the Arizona Coyotes signed Alex Galchenyuk. However, his third stint with the club will now not be happening, as they have placed him on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract.
It has been a whirlwind of a summer for Galchenyuk. First, his UFA rights were traded from the Colorado Avalanche to the Nashville Predators. The Predators opted not to sign him to a deal, so Galchenyuk inked a one-year pact with the Coyotes. Yet, now he will not be playing there in 2023-24 and will be a free agent again.
The Coyotes PR department did not provide a reason for the contract termination and noted that they "have no further comment at this time."
Galchenyuk appeared in 11 games last season with the Avalanche, posting zero points and a minus-8 rating. During the previous season with Arizona, he had six goals and 21 points in 60 games.
We will need to wait and see if more information comes out regarding this contract termination from here.
