Arizona Coyotes Set to Sign Top Prospect
Arizona Coyotes top prospect Logan Cooley likely will not be returning to the University of Minnesota. According to PHNX Sports' Craig Morgan, the Coyotes are inching closer to signing Cooley to an entry-level deal.
The Coyotes selected Cooley with the third-overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, and the expectation is that the 19-year-old has all the tools to become a top-six forward later down the road. When looking at the Coyotes' roster, he has a clear shot of making their NHL roster out of training camp.
Cooley just put together an excellent freshmen season with the University of Minnesota, posting 22 goals to go along with 60 points in 39 games. This kind of campaign naturally led to him receiving far more attention, and now it appears that he is gearing up to begin his professional career.
It will be interesting to see how much of an impact he makes for the Coyotes, but when looking at his collegiate stats, it is hard not to feel excited about his arrival.
