Arizona Coyotes Sign Forward
The Arizona Coyotes have added to their forward depth, as they have signed Justin Kirkland to a one-year, two-way contract.
Kirkland, 26, spent the 2022-23 season with the Anaheim Ducks organization. During it, he appeared in his first seven career NHL games, where he zero points and a minus-3 rating. He primarily played for their AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gills, posting nine goals to go along with 18 points.
Kirkland will be hoping to earn himself a spot on the Coyotes' NHL roster at training camp. If he fails to make the team, he will be an experienced player on their AHL roster. In either scenario, the Coyotes are improving their depth with this move.
Kirkland has the potential to be a solid AHL scorer when looking at his resume. For example, during the 2021-22 season, he had 25 goals to go along with 48 points in 66 games with the Stockton Heat.
Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see how Kirkland performs with the Coyotes from here.
