Boston Bruins Re-Sign Forward
The Boston Bruins are bringing back one of their young forwards, as they have signed Marc McLaughlin to a one-year, two-way contract. At the NHL level, he will carry a $775,000 cap hit.
McLaughlin is one of the many Bruins forwards who will be competing for a spot in their bottom six next season. The 23-year-old played in only two games this past season with Boston, where he was held off of the scoresheet. However, during the 2021-22 season, he had three goals in 11 games played with the NHL squad.
McLaughlin primarily spend the 2022-23 campaign with the Providence Bruins, scoring 13 goals and recording 30 points in 66 games.
Overall, McLaughlin will at least serve as a call-up candidate for the Bruins this upcoming season. However, if he does well during training camp, he would be an option for their fourth line at the start of the 2022-23 season.
