LA Kings Sign Anze Kopitar To Extension

Even at the age of 35, Anze Kopitar has proven that he's still a top-line center in the NHL, and the Los Angeles Kings have rewarded their 17-year franchise player with a new two-year extension worth $14M.

The $7M AAV keeps Kopitar in line with what he was due to earn in the final year of his 8-year, $80M contract that was set to expire after next season.

The Kings' captain posted another strong season this past year, with 28 goals and 74 points in 82 games.

Since being a first-round pick in the 2005 Draft, Kopitar has been a much-decorated leader for the Kings, winning two Lady Byng trophies, including this past campaign, and two Selkes.

It's certainly nice to see that Kopitar will be continuing his Hollywood story, at least through the 2025-26 season.
