Ryan Graves Signed To Six-Year Contract

Coming off a 3-year, $9M deal, Ryan Graves went into free agency as one of the top blueliners on the market. And it took a six-year contract to land him, by the New Jersey Devils' Metropolitan Division rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Kyle Dubas has settled right in quite nicely as the new GM in Pittsburgh, pulling off a number of deals on the first day of free agency, not the least of which is the massive signing of Graves.

It's reported to be a $27M deal, worth $4.5M annually, and run for six seasons.

A two-way defenseman with a big shot, Graves will fit right in on a second-pairing assignment in Pittsburgh.

He spent the last two seasons in New Jersey after three seasons in Colorado. He led the league in plus/minus at +40 in 2019-20, and was a +34 this past season. He added 26 points and played just a tick under 20:00 per game.
