Buffalo Sabres Rumors: Star Forward Becoming Free-Agent Target

While speaking with reporters, Buffalo Sabres GM Kevyn Adams noted that he hopes to add another forward due to Jack Quinn's long-term injury. As a result of this, one player who could be a possible free-agent target for them is star winger Vladimir Tarasenko.

Tarasenko is still looking for his new home over a week into free agency. The 31-year-old was reportedly going to sign with the Carolina Hurricanes, but things changed on that front after he fired his agent. Thus, he is still available, and Buffalo could look to sign him.

Tarasenko would give the Sabres another top-six option as they aim to get back into the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. Although a long-term deal would not be an ideal, it could be an avenue worth going down if it is a one-year, prove-it deal.

Alas, with Adams looking to add a forward, don't be surprised if they end up making a push for Tarasenko, the top free-agent forward still on the market.
