Calgary Flames Rumors: New Team Enters Noah Hanifin Sweepstakes

The Calgary Flames are shopping Noah Hanifin, as he is in the final year of his contract and has made it known that he does not plan to re-sign with the club next summer. Teams like the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, and Toronto Maple Leafs have been linked to him, but according to The Fourth Period, a new club has entered the picture - the Dallas Stars.

The Stars have been actively looking to add another top-four defenseman to their group all offseason. Matt Dumba is one player who has been on their radar, but it appears that he is not the only player that they like, given their connection to Hanifin.

Hanifin would make the Stars' blueline look a lot better on paper next season. This would certainly be great news for Dallas, as they are currently aiming to be among the top clubs in the Western Conference.

Appearing in 81 games this past season with the Flames, Hanifin posted seven goals, 31 assists, and a plus-2 rating. The Stars could use that kind of production from the point, so let's see if they land the Massachusetts native.
