Carolina Hurricanes Rumors: Forward Discussed In Trade Talks

The Carolina Hurricanes have had a busy summer, and they may not be done just yet. If they want to add another high-impact player like Erik Karlsson or Vladimir Tarasenko, they will need to move out money. Per Elliotte Friedman, they have talked to some teams about Teuvo Teravainen because of this.

Teravainen carries a $5.4 million cap hit until the completion of next season. He also has a 10-team no-trade list, so there are some restrictions over where the Hurricanes can move him - if they choose to, of course.

Teravainen appeared in 68 games this past season for the Hurricanes, where he had 12 goals to go along with 37 points. He also posted just one goal in six postseason games. Overall, it was a down year for him, but when looking at his past success, there should be teams interested in adding him.

It will be interesting to see if the Hurricanes decide to move Teravainen to free up cap space from here. Some clubs who could express interest in him include the New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks, Winnipeg Jets, and Calgary Flames.
