Coyotes Sign Top Prospect, Will Compete for Calder Trophy In 2023-24

The Arizona Coyotes were able to sign 2022 third overall pick Logan Cooley to a three-year entry-level deal after it initially looked like he was set to play another year in the NCAA.

Cooley is a highly touted player who some think will give Connor Bedard a run for his money with the Calder trophy (rookie of the year). Bedard will be playing on the first line, so with Cooley likely centering one of the top two lines in Arizona, he will arguably have as good or better players playing beside him.

Cooley lit up the US National Team Development Program in 2021-22 and put up stellar numbers last season with the University of Minnesota. He most definitely should be able to stick around with the Coyotes all season as even though they have tried to improve by adding talent, they aren't the most competitive lineup. Cooley's arrival should make fans excited to watch the team play this season and he makes the Calder race that much better.
