Dallas Stars Rumors: Mason Marchment Potentially Available for Trade
It is not a secret that the Dallas Stars are interested in Matt Dumba. Yet, they need to clear out cap space to make that signing potentially come to fruition. According to David Pagnotta, Mason Marchment "might be in play" for a potential trade.
Marchment was signed to a four-year, $18 million contract by the Stars just last offseason. He also has a 10-team no-trade list, so there are some restrictions to moving him, but it is also still possible if there are any clubs not on his list looking to add him.
Marchment had an effective first season with the Stars, posting 12 goals and 31 points in 69 games. Although he did not replicate his stellar 47-point campaign in 54 games from 2021-22, he still showed that he is an effective middle-six winger. Thus, there could be a market out there.
Alas, we will now need to wait and see what the Stars end up doing with Marchment from here. Some clubs who could look to bring in the 6-foot-4 winger include the Chicago Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes, Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, and Pittsburgh Penguins.
