Detroit Red Wings Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Filip Zadina
The Detroit Red Wings are expected to terminate Filip Zadina's contract. Once this comes to fruition, the former top prospect will be a free agent. Although he has struggled to become an impactful NHL player at this point of his career, teams will be calling given his young age (23) and potential. Let's discuss three possible landing spots for him.
Calgary Flames: The Calgary Flames need some scoring help, so they could look to take a chance on a player like Zadina. Although he has not taken that next step yet, he could on a team like the Flames if given middle-six minutes. Furthermore, he would be a candidate to receive power-play time.
Anaheim Ducks: The Anaheim Ducks are rebuilding and likely would not be against bringing in Zadina on a cheap one-year deal. Their roster is not strong, and it could open the door for the 2018 sixth-overall pick to receive plenty of playing time because of it.
Philadelphia Flyers: The rebuilding Philadelphia Flyers also stand out as a team who could look to sign Zadina. He could become a nice part of their rebuild if he hits his full potential, and he would surely be in the running to receive top-six minutes when looking at their current group.
