Florida Panthers Rumors: Sam Reinhart Becoming Trade Candidate

The Florida Panthers are looking to make more additions to their roster and are willing to free up cap space to do. According to David Pagnotta, the Panthers are exploring the trade market for skilled forward Sam Reinhart.

Moving Reinhart would create more possibilities for the Panthers. He carries a hefty $6.5 million cap hit, so naturally, getting that money off the books would be beneficial. This is especially so if moving him allows Florida to land a solid return for the 27-year-old.

Reinhart is coming off of another solid season with the Panthers, scoring 31 goals and posting 67 points in 82 games played. Teams looking for a top-six forward are likely going to express interest in 2014 second-overall pick. Besides being a strong offensive contributor, he also offers versatility, being able to play both center and right wing.

It will be interesting to see what the Panthers decide to do with Reinhart from here. When noting that he is entering the final year of his deal, there is an argument to be had to move him. Some teams to watch in the sweepstakes include the Calgary Flames, Seattle Kraken, Detroit Red Wings, and Washington Capitals.
