Florida Panthers Sign Forward to 4-Year Deal

The Florida Panthers have made another addition to their roster, signing Evan Rodrigues to a four-year, $12 million contract.

Rumors were surfacing that the Panthers were looking to add a middle-six forward, and now they have added a very solid one in Rodrigues. Rodrigues will be a good fit in the Panthers' lineup, as he is capable of playing all three forward positions. Therefore, he should fit virtually anywhere in the Panthers' top nine.

Rodrigues just put together a strong season with the Colorado Avalanche, where he posted 16 goals to go along with 39 points in 69 games played. Adding that kind of secondary scoring to the lineup should be very beneficial for the Panthers. Furthermore, he should be a key part of their power play because of his strong offensive IQ.

Nevertheless, it is nice to see Rodrigues finally land a multi-year deal. It will be interesting to see how well he performs for the Panthers from here.
