Golden Knights Sign 1st-Rounder

The 32nd and final pick of the 2023 NHL Draft's opening round by the Vegas Golden Knights, center David Edstrom, has agreed to a three-year, entry-level deal with the Stanley Cup champs. He becomes the 7th player in this year's first-round draft class to sign on the dotted line.

The 18-year-old from Göteborg, Sweden is expected to play for Frolunda in the SHL this coming season. The 6'3" power forward has good size and excellent skating ability; he had eight points in seven games at the 2022-23 U-18 World Junior Championship, and also posted good offensive numbers with Frölunda this past season, both with the U-20 team and the pro team, totalling 35 points (17G, 18A) in 31 games.

Edstrom was recently at the Golden Knights' Development Camp, and was a sponge taking in as much as he could from the coaches to work on this summer back home.
