Minnesota Wild Re-Sign Forward

The Minnesota Wild have re-signed Brandon Duhaime to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.

Duhaime was set to have an arbitration hearing on Thursday, but the Wild have locked him up before it.

Duhaime has emerged as a solid part of the Wild's bottom six over these last few seasons, so it was important for them to re-sign him. The 6-foot-2 winger provides Minnesota with plenty of physicality, and that is what has led him to become a decent fourth-liner on their roster.

Duhaime appeared in 51 games last season for the Wild, where he had nine goals to go along with 10 points and a notable 146 hits.

It will be interesting to see how well Duhaime performs for the Wild this upcoming season. He should continue to be utilized in their bottom six and also should see a good amount of time on their penalty kill in the process.
