Montreal Canadiens Rumors: 2 Forwards Available for Trade

According to Eric Engels, the Montreal Canadiens are aiming to trade Mike Hoffman and Joel Armia before the offseason is finished, as they do not view them as long-term parts of their group.

Engels also noted that the Canadiens are likely going to wait until free agency completely slows down before engaging with teams about the two veteran forwards. This ultimately makes sense, as clubs who missed out on free agents should be more open to taking in a player like Hoffman or Armia.

Hoffman, 33, appeared in 67 games last season with the Canadiens, posting 14 goals and 34 points. Although his days as a top-six forward are over, he could still be a decent third-line scoring forward for a team looking for a boost.

Armia, on the other hand, posted seven goals and seven assists in 43 games played. He is a decent fourth-line energy player who plays a steady defensive game, so there could be interest in him, especially if Montreal is willing to eat up some of his cap hit.
