Nashville Predators Sign 6-Year Veteran Forward

The Nashville Predators have made an intriguing move in free agency, signing winger Denis Gurianov to a one-year contract worth $850,000.

Gurianov, a 26-year-old Russian player, became an unrestricted free agent after the Montreal Canadiens chose not to extend a qualifying offer on his previous contract.

Despite a slightly less productive season in 2022-23, he showed improvement after being traded, totaling 17 points in 66 games split between the Dallas Stars and Canadiens.

With a career spanning 280 NHL games, Gurianov has amassed 51 goals and 111 points, including a 20-goal season in 2019-2020.

He has also demonstrated his playoff prowess with nine goals and 17 points in 32 postseason games, helping the Stars reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2020. This signing adds depth and offensive potential to the Predators' lineup, bolstering their chances for success in the upcoming season.

Gurianov, the 12th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, spent seven seasons with the Dallas Stars before being traded to the Canadiens.

Known for his speed and scoring ability, Gurianov has the potential to make a significant impact with the Predators. The team has been actively making changes in management and the roster this offseason, and Gurianov's addition further solidifies their commitment to improving their lineup.

With his skill set and previous success, Gurianov has the opportunity to revitalize his game and contribute to the Predators' pursuit of success in the NHL's Central Division. Photo Credit: David Kirouac-USA TODAY Sports
